WHAT TO PACK....

Most hikers prefer a reasonable level of basic comforts, but you’re limited in the sorts of luxuries you can take with you because you will have to carry them. A bag should weigh more or less one quarter of your body weight, depending on your own personal strength and fitness. It is recommended that a woman’s pack weighs no more than 12kg, including water bottles.

One thus has to strike a balance between weight (and volume) of your pack versus comfort and amenities. It is suggested you use a checklist as a guideline.
